WHAT IS HOMEOPATHY AND ITS ROLE IN ILLNESS?
Homeopathic medicines act by stimulating the amazing ability we all have within us to cure ourselves. Some call this the immune system and some Qi. Homeopaths call it the vital force. This is what has enabled humans and animals to survive for millions of years. It heals us if we become ill. It is far more powerful than any drug. For homeopathy to be effective the remedies must be given according to homeopathic principles. A homeopath must study hard and long to master homeopathy.
Most serious disease is caused by our or our animal's body making a mistake. Most modern diseases, for example rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid conditions, hayfever, eczema and asthma, are the body's immune system inappropriately attacking itself. The aim of Homeopathy is to correct this mistake and restore health. Conventional medicine deals with the symptoms, but does not always address the cause. The cause of the body making this mistake is often stress. Grief, humiliation, over-work, homesickness, anger or fear can cause physical disease. Homeopathy is powerful because it addresses both the physical symptoms and the mental distress. That is why when a correct homeopathic remedy is given the patient often feels much better and happier, as well as being improved in their symptoms.
WHAT CONDITIONS DO PEOPLE AND ANIMALS COME TO ME ABOUT?
Eczema, asthma, indigestion, constipation, IBS, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, back pain, sciatica, menopausal and other hormonal problems, thyroid conditions, cystitis, depression and other emotional problems, headaches, behavioural problems, eating disorders, sexual problems, coughs, colds, 'flu, insomnia....in fact the potential list is endless as no two people's ailments are alike.
I treat all disease in animals, including CANCER. I have lectured to conventional vets on the successful treatment of cancer in animals at the South West and London Veterinary Shows, and have many case studies, including those which has been to a conventional oncologist with no success, before coming to me. Should you wish a lecture on this cutting edge medicine please contact me.
Homeopathy is about considering the individual and addressing why they became ill and finding the best remedy that covers all of their problems, physical and emotional.
HOMEOPATHIC VET REFERRAL SERVICE
For animals I am a referral service for homeopathy only, and you must talk to your regular veterinary surgery before coming to see me. I will usually want to see your animals veterinary notes if they are relevant to the case. It is seldom satisfactory to prescribe over the telephone because observation and examination of your animal is crucial for homeopathic and conventional reasons. I will only do this if your animal has been examined by your own vet, they are happy for you to speak to me, and if there is no suitably qualified homeopathic vet who is closer to you whom you could attend in person.
OPENING TIMES AND CONTACT DETAILS
The homeopathy and homeopathic vet surgery is open 9am to 5pm weekdays except Thursday.
My telephone time is between 9-10am, but callers outside of these times can leave their telephone number and I will get back to them as soon as I get the opportunity.
If you require an experienced teacher, or simply someone to talk about homeopathy for people or animals do give me a 'phone.
WHY I BECAME A HOMEOPATH
I trained in veterinary medicine at Cambridge and practised conventionally for eight years before realising that except for simple problems I treated very few patients satisfactorily. I merely controlled their symptoms with drugs, effective as they often were. At that time I had my own hay fever treated successfully by a homeopath. It was no longer necessary to take my anti-histamine drugs. I had been taught this was not possible, so from that day I wanted to be a homeopath. It has been an enormously satisfying journey of study and practice leading to a busy practice and becoming a teacher of homeopathy for veterinary surgeons, homeopathic vets, homeopaths, doctors, and farmers.
